Andreas Guericke is Director General Legal Services of the Deutsche Bundesbank. He joined the Deutsche Bundesbank in 1994 after finishing his legal training and obtaining a PhD in law. After several years as legal adviser and Deputy Head of the European Union and International Law Division, he was Head of the Banking Supervision Law and International Banking Supervision Division from 2008 to 2011.
In 2011, Andreas Guericke was designated Head of the European Union and International Law Division. He was appointed Deputy Director General of the Legal Services in 2013 before being appointed as Director in 2015. From 2015 to 2021, he was Chief Compliance Officer of the Bundesbank. He has been a member of the European Central Bank Legal Committee since 2011.
