Lucía Arranz is the Director of the Legal department in the Banco de España. She joined the Spanish central bank in 2004 as a lawyer and over the years has held different positions in the institution, as head of the European affairs division (2008), head of the legal advice division (2011), executive coordinator (2014) and Director of the Legal department (2016).
Prior to joining the Banco de España she worked as a lawyer in the Legal department of a Spanish bank (Bankinter) and in the EU Law department of a big Spanish Lawfirm (Garrigues, Brussels).
Lucía has a Law Degree from Universidad Complutense (Madrid), a LLM in EU Law from the College of Europe (Bruges) and a LLM in Telecom and New Technologies Law from Instituto de Empresa (Madrid).
She is also a member of the European Central Bank Legal Committee, the Advisory Board of the European Banking Institute and the Advisory Committee of the Banking Law Section of the Madrid Bar Association.
