Mr. Manuel Monteagudo is the General Counsel of the Central Bank of Peru since 1994. During his career at the Central Bank –initiated in 1984- he held various other positions including Secretary General and assistant lawyer for the Board’s Counsel. Mr Monteagudo obtained his law degree at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (1987) and his LLM at the University of Houston (1991). In 2004, he received a Doctorate in Laws from the University of Paris, Panthéon – Sorbonne (2004) with a thesis about Independence of Central Bank – legal aspects. He has produced different articles on international economic law issues.
Mr. Monteagudo is also an international law professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.
He is married with three children.
